Collections on resort taxes, a fee added to hotel and motel room sales, reached $20.4 million for the month of May, up 10.1 percent from $18.59 million collected for the year-ago period, said the Orange County Comptroller's office.
Collections year-to-date through May 2017 also were up 6.1 percent to $176 million, compared to $165.8 million collected in January-May 2016.
